Teslacon pics part 2
Here's my Saturday dress! As a little preface, I should mention that the fabric this is made out of has been in my stash longer than almost anything: I saw the bolt on clearance as a kid, and I begged my mom to buy it, because I knew it would make a perfect Victorian dress. All these years later, it finally has!

I've wanted a natural form evening dress for a long time, and I'd originally planned to do a floor length dinner dress, but the only pattern that I had for this period in the style I wanted was an out-of-print Simplicity pattern that had a long train, so I figured, 'what the heck, I've got 20 yards- you only live once!' I ended up having the longest train of anyone at the ball that night, haha. It got stepped on a lot, but it looked fabulous, so that's what counts. (I might take it in a little bit more at the waist before the next time I wear it- using those frog closures made it a little looser fitting in the torso than I intended.) I wish I had a pic of me wearing it at the ball, since I had my kid gloves and velvet choker and it looked fancier than just the watch necklace I dressed it down with during the day, but my camera didn't like the low light in the ball room. Still- I used that brocade at last and I can finally check it off my bucket list. Woohoo!
