I've got to get a pin or a bumper sticker that says something like that! Do they even make those???

Anyhoo, life has been insanely hectic lately, therefore I haven't been on LJ for nearly a month. Oy. Probably won't get on again any time soon. Double oy.

But on the bright side, yesterday I finally went to see "Chamber of Secrets", and am consequently in a very pleased mood. How much do I love Harry?! :-D And I actually got Mum to go with me, and she actually admitted to liking it. Mwahaha! I'll get her hooked yet! ;-D

Also went to see the latest Star Trek movie recently. It could have been better, but it could have been worse, and on the whole I liked it. It was just nice to have the oppurtunity for a good nitpicking session. A true nitpick between devoted Trekkies is a thing of beauty.

Yes, I am a geek. But I accept it. And I'm proud of it. I Am Trekkie, Hear Me Nitpick!

On an only slightly less geeky note, I am incredibly happy with having drawn a picture of a character in one of my stories that actually looks like that character. I have pretty minimal drawing ability, at least lately, and this was one of those times where every single thing I drew worked out perfectly. Of course it helped that I had the book of old Harper's Bazar fasion plates out to see how to properly illustarate the construction of the dress, but I designed the dress myself, and it looks just like I wanted it to. The downside to all this being that, probably because I was so tense about getting it right the whole time, I got one of those evil migraine headaches I always used to get. Arg. And I really thought I'd stopped getting those. *sigh* Isn't it ALWAYS that way?

Haven't been remotely writerly lately, and I haven't written a a darn thing in months. I did a little editing on the French Story, but I've come to a bit of an impasse as to what should happen next. I never like to label it writer's block though, because that's just an excuse. I COULD write something if I would give it a little effort, but right now I don't want to. I'm just so tired all the time. And it's so much easier just to lounge on the couch and to plug in my skating tapes. It's so terrible. I'm becoming quite addicted. I can watch any one of Elena and Anton's programs over and over and over, and still be completely entranced. One of these days I'm going to have to accept that there is more to life than figure skating.

But not till after Worlds.

(GO Shae-Lynn and Victor! And Evgeny Plushenko!)

You see? The madness never ends! ;-D
