Mum and I decided that we should get started on our costumes for the Renaissance faire early this year, so we won't have to worry about scrambling to finish them the day before. This is a really good idea, except that I've been much more into Regency costumes lately. I have this really good pattern for an 1805 doll dress, and I've already cut it out, and now all I have to do is sew it. Needless to say, I'm much more excited about that than about listening to Mum go on and on about how she doesn't know what dress to make, and how she wants me to 'help' her. (i.e. design a dress for her. ARG.) I can tell this is NOT going to go smoothly.
And once again, lots of sewing projects will mean absolutely no writing time, which is bad, considering I haven't been doing any writing lately, and was kind of hoping to start again. Double ARG.
Thankfully I've got my big fat copy of The Complete Sherlock Holmes to keep me from utter despair. And last night I went hunting through our old tapes and found the tape which had the "Elemantary, Dear Data" episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation and watched it with unbridled glee. Oh, the glories of being able to nitpick Star Trek AND Sherlock Holmes AT THE SAME TIME! Needless to say, my inner fangirl was in raptures.
(And I can't believe that Data pronounced 'Lestrade' wrong! Everyone knows it's pronounced like 'Lestrayed', surely Data of all people would use the proper pronunciation!)
