costuming preparations...oy
Nov. 22nd, 2006 07:37 pmI finally found fabric for a turban to match my ball dress. Whew!
I do not, however, think I'll have time to make a cloak. I haven't found the right fabric or decided on a pattern, and I've only two days left, so I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope that this week's warm weather persists though the weekend and that it doesn't snow.
My day dress shrunk in the wash, and now it actually fits! Yay!
I still don't know for sure which classes I'm going to. Oy.
As evidenced above, preparations for this have eaten all my time lately. And my mum is going too (double oy) and as she's not terribly knowledgeable about historic costuming, she bugs me about what she should go to and what she should wear every 2 seconds. As well as just generally being the biggest worrier in the world. I'm sure she'll insist we pack a whole caravan of provisions for an excursion that will only last a few hours, and go no farther than the other side of town. (triple oy)
I haven't even started on Murder Must Advertise yet. And it's in times of stress when I need the comfort of an English 1930's whodunit the most!
