The 1940's doll dress is finished! And it looks great! And I didn't have to re-do it at all! HOORAY! It came together like magic when I dug out some accessories from the doll clothes bin; it looks like it could be a commercially made outfit. I SO need to take pictures of it! Must. procure. camera. Must!

My birthday was lovely. Went to Ella's, ordered the biggest, most expensive thing on the menu, and still had enough food left over that I got two more meals out of it the next day! And it was all SO good. And even after I'd stuffed myself, I still went out for an ice cream sundae afterward. Mwahaha! Gluttony can be lots of fun. And then I hung out at the bookstore all night. Which is what any self respecting geek would do upon turning 21. ;-D

I miss dressing up for Halloween. Needless to say, I didn't, because there's really no where to go if you're an adult who doesn't want to get drunk and tear-gassed on State Street. Apparently, there was no tear-gassing or rioting this year, but it's still not like it was when I was a kid, and I'm not taking any chances until it's been calm a few more years. On the bright side though, if you go shopping on Halloween, pretty much every store you go to has a basket of candy out somewhere, so that by the time I'd finished with the groceries and come home that day, my pockets were filled with bite-sized candy bars. Not too shabby. And you don't even have to schlep to people's houses in the cold. I think the trick-or-treaters have been taken in all these years!
