doctors are STILL evil
Aug. 11th, 2009 07:05 pmOMFG. I'm going to have to have surgery to fix the blocked tear duct in my right eye after all. (After 10 months, six doctors, three wrong diagnoses and five ineffective treatment plans.) I could have just had the surgery right away last November, and saved all this trouble, if every doctor in the world hadn't been a complete and total idiot. Medical community, I hate you.
On the brighter side, I went to a really interesting presentation at the State Historical Museum, where a wonderful actress portrayed Mary Lincoln, and met a lady who volunteers there, and she says she'd knit or embroider stuff in exchange for sewing! Woohoo!
On the crappy side again though, let me state that the Historical Society's Patterns of History were made by people who had clearly never constructed a real garment in their lives, because when I tried to do a toile of the 1830's pattern, it did not turn out anything like a dress that would fit a human being. And it was too small. Ladies' size 14 my foot. More like girls' size 10. I think I'll stick with altering Simplicity patterns; at least those fit, and are actually shaped like clothing. O_o
