Things have been pretty odd lately. I know we're going to have to get back to cleaning soon, because as it is I can't get to my computer at home because we've moved the furniture around in the course of cleaning so that it's totally blocked in and I can't get any writing done. Arg.
So this means I'm going to have to give up my Art Nouveau greeting cards for a time, and I'm quite miffed about it, because I was just coming along with some sketches for illustrating some of the quatrains from The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. (By the way, I have no idea how to properly spell that!) Le sigh.
Voting tomorrow. Eeps. This election is so worrisome. I'm really thankful I turned 18 in time to vote this year. I can't believe how few people my age actually vote, though. It weird how people seem to think that if they don't vote it won't make a difference. But I have neither the time nor energy to go into my importance of voting rant now. (Which I'm sure eveyrone is grateful for!)
Anyway, I'm just kind of frazzled today, mostly because of an incident last night involving the upstairs neighbor, who thinks it's fun to bang on our doors and ceiling and shout obscenities at us and call us names whenever we turn on the shower. He's been harassing us for no reason for ages, accusing us of everything he can come up with to make an excuse for this sort of behaviour. And he's a big, huge scary guy, with a serious rage problem, so god knows what he's libel to do. It's incredibly scary, and no one should have to live in fear of harassment and harm in their own home, so we've complained to the apartment management, and if he comes and starts harassing us like that again we're calling the police. It's just insane. We've done nothing at all to provoke him, even bent over backwards to meet his demands, and it just gets worse. I hope to god he moves out, because this isn't just unreasonable, it's cruel and illeagle. And it needs to stop.
So that totally ruined my Halloween, but I'm trying to console myself with watching a lot of my favorite period movies to cheer me up, and a lot of figure skating. I have SO much to say about the new skating season, but, alas, no time to say it now. So expect my next entry to be nothing but a lot of rambling about skating! ;-D
