Christmas cookies & cards, and 'Hound of the Baskervilles' and figure skating related disappointment
Well, it's finally started snowing, and I have the wet socks to prove it! Time for getting down to Christmas preparations, which will hopefully include making the traditional Christmas butter cookies, if I can persuade Mum to let us use the cookie press. She has an irrational fear of the cookie press, because she says it's too much trouble and makes too much of a mess, but I promised I'd do it all myself and she won't even have to deal with it, but she doesn't believe me. And considering the fact that she's the only one who knows where the cookie press actually is, this presents quite a problem. Nontheless, I remain undaunted, and I'm sure I'll wear her down soon.
I've already had a bit of a Christmas card frenzy over the weekend, and sent Christmas card to absoultely everyone I know. So, basically, if you've ever given me your address, expect a Christmas card from me very soon, if, indeed, it hasn't arrived already.
I've finished reading The Hound of the Baskervilles now, and totally loved it, and I must say it's made me regret even more having missed the latest Masterpiece Theatre adaptation when it was on TV. And not only once, but TWICE did I miss it, and now I'll never be able to see it! ARG! And I wanted to see it SO BADLY; I literally cried both times I missed it. It's so unfair. I will NEVER be consoled. And the fact that all this was brought to my mind on the same day that I found out that ABC isn't airing the smegging World Figure Skating Championships AT ALL this year, or possibly until the end of time, hasn't helped my raise my spirits any. (P.S. WTF is THAT about? That is the most unreasonable, stupid, ridiculous thing I've EVER HEARD! I thought them not airing the Grand Prix series was bad enough, but THIS takes the cake! Who the heck decided this, anyway? Whoever they are, they deserve, at the very least, to be locked in a cage with rabid wombats while being force-fed rancid shrimp.)
Oh, yeah, anyway, happy holidays and whatnot... *sigh*

Of course, it's awesome and Gorey as always...>:D
Most importantly: like you, all I want for Christmas is the original British cast of Robbie the Reindeer: Hooves of Fire! Maybe this will be the year Santa hears our plea...
(I love how we think so very alike. I was just lamenting the U.S. voice cast to my mother)
Thank you!! I actually have a card here all ready to send, so expect it (sigh) slightly after the holidays. I really am terrible about that.
