sunshine, sewing, literary conventions
May. 17th, 2006 05:34 pmSunshine at last. *breathes sigh of relief*
The 1870's doll dress coming along better than expected; I've had to pretty much chuck the pattern and figure out how to do it myself, so if it ends up looking at all like it's supposed to, I'll be happy!
I wish I'd have known in advance about all the literary conventions they have here this year, I could have saved up! I'd love to go to WisCon, because Jane Yolen is one of the featured guests, and I really like a lot of her stuff, but that's $40 I don't have. And forget Bouchercon; the fee is $180 for that! An international mystery convention comes to my hometown and I can't even go! Salt in the wound! And god knows we'll move before it ever comes back here; I think it's in Alaska next year. I wonder if our local Sherlock Holmes Society is going to do anything in conjunction with it, they have in previous years, so maybe I could volunteer to help in order to get in! A small sliver of hope. We'll see if my desperation is pitiful enough!
