Yikes I've been remiss in my updating! But the onset of the holidays will make everything topsy-turvy. I had an eye infection over Thanksgiving to boot, which I'm still on medication for, so I've been out of comission for a while, but I'm better now. Especially since I went a little wild and bought myself tons of stuff from American Girl to cheer myself up. *sheepish grin* But they're retiring Samantha so I HAD TO! My inner 10-year-old would not let me go through life without those doll clothes! So there!

THEY'RE RETIRING SAMANTHA? WHAT?! YES, THIS NEWS CALLS FOR ALL CAPS.

YES, THEY ARE! AND YES, IT DOES!!! I was like "WTF?!?" when I found out, and I missed getting Samantha's Middy Outfit by ONE DAY. I've wanted it since I was 4, and I'm ONE DAY too late. Cruel, cruel irony. So naturally I bought a zillion other things to make up for it. The fact that it's my last chance is such a convenient rationalization. ;)

But OMG I'M GOING TO SIT SHIVA FOR SAMANTHA OR SOMETHING THEY ARE CRUELLY DESTROYING A CHILDHOOD ICON BEFORE IT'S TIME!

I have to order her! My niece got my Samantha ages ago (though I still have Molly) and I always meant to buy a new one and -- !!

I CANNOT BELIEVE I MISSED THIS NEWS. We must sit shiva together!!

A quirky little Japanese series where countries are something-like-Olympian Gods (sort of like "This is the spirit of America!") and personified as people. It's very strange! But people make lovely icons. That's Austria.
