newmoonstar | Spice Girls and Beatles squeeing (yes, I have eclectic taste in music!)

I wish I could say that I haven't posted in so long because I've been so amazingly productive, but that would be a total lie. Despite the fact that I've been having those dreams where it's like "Oh no! It's the day before Costume Con and I haven't sewn a single stitch and have nothing to wear!" (which could so very easily happen) I've been amusing myself with Spice Girls nostalgia instead. Having discovered that their greatest hits album has two new songs (OMG YAY!!!) it started me listening to them again, and seeking out any stuff of theirs I may not have heard/seen. So the past few weeks have been spent re-watching Spice World, squeeing over the fact that the girls named Spice are on the pop album version of Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida singing "My Strongest Suit", and wishing that there was a collection of their videos on DVD somewhere! They had awesome videos! (But I've discovered that I still can't listen to "Mama" without disolving into a weepy mess!)

The release of The Beatles Rockband has been another source of procrastination material. Not for the thing itself, but for the fact that the aggressive promotion of it has caused Beatles videos and Beatles documentaries to be on TV all the time, and there's now so much more lovely Beatles merchandise in the stores to distract oneself with! I've always been more the casual Beatles fan, I love the music, but darned if I even know which song comes from which album! So what better time to delve deeper into the Fab Four love? ;-D

I am a bad, bad costumer. But it's so fun to be bad when you have the Spice Girls and the Beatles to console you!
