Onions and All That Jazz
May. 20th, 2003 06:28 pmI currently have "All That Jazz" stuck in my head. Again. Ever since the movie came out and the commericials for it have been on TV, I've been singing "Chicago" songs all the time. They stick in your head something terrible. This wouldn't be such a bad thing, since I do love them all, but ever since I was eight I've had special fondness for "All That Jazz", and used to go around singing it ALL THE TIME. Therefore, if my mother catches me singing it, she goes nuts and starts bitching at me until I stop. Doesn't she understand that I can't help it?!
I cannot sing at the moment though because my throat hurts. I hope it's just allergies and not strep. Ick. *pops another zinc lozenge*
I have decided that if the novelist thing doesn't pan out, I wish to write for "The Onion". 'Tis one of the most brilliant publications I have ever encountered. Quite well suited to my twisted sardonic sense of humor and taste for satire. And it's based in Madison, best of all! It's like the mothership calling me home! I knew it was fate the minute I came across a delightful compendium of 'historic' "Onion" front pages known as "Our Dumb Century". History geeks must all go forth and find it. You shall laugh your ass off.
Am tired and hungry. Must stop wasting everyone's time with random journal entries.
I'm serious about "The Onion" though!!!
And since I was talking about "Chicago", I will just add that even though Catherine Zeta-Jones is marvelous, Bebe Neuwirth is indeed far superior. That is all. ;-D
