Answer for question 4458.
Jul. 16th, 2015 11:17 pm[Error: unknown template qotd]I doubt I can come up with all 20, but #1 is 'Say You'll Be There' by the Spice Girls - if any one song takes me back to my childhood instantly, it's that one. The first time I heard it I was about 10 years old, & my best friend & I were riding home after a hot summer day at a water park, & we were so happy, and giggling about whatever fun stuff we were planning, and the minute this song came on the radio, we turned it up & bopped along to it like goofy happy kids do. Really one of my favorite childhood moments. :)
But the rest of the list would be lots of Spice Girls, No Doubt, Mariah Carey, Alanis Morrisette- all the 90s stuff! So much nostalgia! Okay, come to think of it- I probably can do the whole list:
1. 'Say You'll Be There'- Spice Girls
2. 'Dreamlover'- Mariah Carey
3. 'Goodbye'- Spice Girls (this is still one of my all-time fave songs, fyi)
4. 'Ironic' - Alanis Morrisette
5. 'I Don't Want To Wait' - Paula Cole
6. 'Fantasy'- Mariah Carey
7. 'Wannabe'- Spice Girls
8. 'Hand in my Pocket' - Alanis Morrisette
9. 'Spiderwebs'- No Doubt
10. 'Someday'- Sugar Ray
11. 'Waterfalls'- TLC
12. 'Honey' - Mariah Carey
13. 'Sunny Came Home' - Shawn Colvin
14. 'Don't Speak'- No Doubt
15. 'Who Will Save Your Soul' -Jewel
16. 'Runaway' - Janet Jackson
17. 'Iris'- Goo Goo Dolls
18. 'Jumper' - Third Eye Blind
19. 'You Gotta Be' - Des'ree
20. 'Dreams'- The Cranberries
And I still have most of the albums these songs come from, & listen to them frequently. I think the music you loved from about 9-16 years old is the stuff most people will be nostalgic for their whole lives. (Do not attack the artistic integrity of the Spice Girls in front of me. Ever. Really. Don't do it! They co-wrote all their songs & they thought about their lyrics & put out a positive message encouraging young girls to express themselves with pride, it was beautiful. I miss the 90s so much sometimes. ;_; I will be a 90s kid forever!! ♥)
