I fed goats!

newmoonstarAm horribly tired. Yesterday Mum and I went to Heritage Hill, which is a very lovely historical park here in town where they have concerts on the Victorian bandstand in summer. We didn't really listen to the concert though, we usually run around looking at the historical buildings and their gardens and such.
It's really a beautiful place, and because this was the last concert of the season (i.e. last chance to get in free till next year) we dediced to bring the camera and take pictures. But of course, it had to be THE HOTTEST DAY all summer long. And of course, Heritage Hill is on, well, a hill. So, we ended up spending several hours trekking up and down a big old hill on the hottest day of the year. And I was wearing my old sandals, which give me blisters if I wear them for too long.
Needless to say, I could barely move when we got home. And then, later on that night, a storm knocked out all the power for several hours. Not an all together good day. BUT, at least the power went out AFTER I'd finished watching "Gosford Park",

I GOT TO FEED GOATS!
Yes, that's right, I fed goats. They keep animals at the Belgian Farm at Heritage Hill, and I always like to say hello to them, especially the goats and sheep, who will come right up to the fence and greet you. The goats were eating clovers when I came, and they wouldn't pay any attention to me, so I picked a clover myself, and held it out to them, and one came and ate it right out my hand. I picked another, and held it to the other goat, and it also took the clover from me and ate it.
I know feeding goats is probably sounds like a lame way to spend a summer afternoon, but for a city girl like me, who's never even had a dog, it was really quite exciting. :) You should have heard me squeal the time I saw a rabbit in the kitchen garden at Heritage Hill's Fort Howard!
On an entirely diferent note, I've been making some headway with 'the Percy fic', but am now having a beastly time with 'the French story'. I go through fazes of liking it and hating it, and right now, I'm hating it. I just want it to END. They had plagues back then; would it be cheating if I killed all the characters off in a plague? ;-D
