I am so sick. And tired. My insane mother instigated a 24-hour massive cleaning binge of the entire house, and several days later I'm still recovering. I don't think I've been in that much pain since we moved. When I get a place of my own, I will never have stuff. Everything I own will have to fit in a closet and that will just be it. A completely bare house. Yes, that'll be good. No more cleaning, ever. Nirvana. Bliss.

On a happier note, back before all this started, I finished the 1880's doll dress. Well, I still have to attach the waistband, but the actual dress-making is finished. And it worked out! Beyond my wildest dreams! It's so cute I could spit! I was having a heck of a time trying to work out the bodice, since it's a jacket with a poufy-gathered plastron front, and I couldn't figure out how to attach the collar so that it would button over the plastron, but I finally figured out that I should just sew the back of the collar to the jacket and then the front would fit over it just fine. And the skirt was insane too, they wanted you to pleat it and then pleat an overskirt to go under the bustle puff, but I threw that notion out, because unless you have pre-pleated fabric, it's just impossible to do pleats like that on something this small. So I did a plain skirt and put on the bustle puff without the underskirt, and it worked out perfectly. It would have been much too fussy and bulky otherwise. One of these days I've got to take pictures, so I won't have to describe it!
