(no subject)

We won!!!!! I don't like to mention politics in my LJ, but once every four years I just have to. It's so weird to think that Bush is finally going to leave, and that I'll be able to hear about 'the President' and think about 'the Government' and not have a horrible cloud of dread hanging over my head, knowing that the next thing we'll hear will be more horrifying than the last. On every level, we needed this. After eight years of hell, I really believed Americans were apathetic, that they didn't care about what was going on in the world or in their country, but after this election, I'm amazed. They stood up and made their voices heard. They WANT change, so maybe now we actually DO have a chance for it. Obama has a long hard road ahead of him, and he can't fix everything, and it'll take a lot of time to un-do eight years of damage, but at least we'll be moving in the right direction. I'm just so happy. More than that, I'm relieved. Being an American feels like something to be proud of again. That's a welcome change for certain. :)

And on a completely different subject, I'm working on the medieval dress again. And I found my missing yard stick. It is a brighter day indeed! *teehee*
