After being so disappointed in the last episode, I was all cranky and prepared to sneer at how it's all gone downhill, but no, the next episode just had to go and be amazing and beautiful. Even despite a very blatently Scottish Vincent van Gogh, it worked. Perfectly. It's epidodes like Vincent and the Doctor that remind me why I love DW so much. ♥
Secondly, I missed DW on the weekend because I was out of town at a Civil War event at a historic house from the 1850's. A proper rich people's gorgeous Italianate villa where Abraham Lincoln was once a houseguest. The furnishings were mostly original, and oh my gosh was it all scrumptiously lovely. I seriously need to get my house cleared out, because I want it to look like that! Of course I don't have 15 foot ceilings with original gasoliers and ceiling medalions and wooden shutters on the windows and marble sinks in every bedroom (who knew they had running water in bedroom sinks in the 1850's?), but I've got 10 foot ceilings, hardwood floors, and 1890's pocket doors, so I could make a pretty good start! (If I were less addicted to buying fabric and sewing supplies! What a mess! Arg!! Must clean!)
