I watched "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" when it was on TV this weekend, and am now experiencing a bout of Potterophilia (not to be confused with pedophilia, mind you.) I think it's because the PoA movie is coming out soon. Of course, that means very little to me, as I won't see it for months and months until it lands in the second run theaters. (I curse household econimizing. Curse it I say!)

I am greatly disturbed by the fact that movie!Lupin appears to have a moustache in the clips I've seen. I could be mistaken, of course, but if indeed it proves to be true, I'll be very disappointed. There is something fundamentally wrong about a mustachioed Lupin. I don't think I'm alone in thinking so either. Is there ANYONE who ever pictured book!Lupin with a moustache?????

On another level, I'm just incredibly bothered by all the unmistakeably modern clothes in the movie. I understand that the director wanted to make it hipper and cooler and more modern and whatnot, but, as this is Harry Potter, and part of it's charm is that it's practically timeless, isn't anyone worried that the movie will look dated even five or ten years from now? I know that's really going out on a limb to even think about that, but still. PoA and GoF are my favorites of the series, and I worry about how they'll be presented.

(I think I'm going beyond the Valley of the Geek and into the Valley of the Truly Obsessed and Sadly Pathetic now.)

(Better stop before I get any further.)

(Or better yet, revel in the HP geekiness and go write more on ye olde Percy fic!!!! ;-D)

(Why am I still using ( )?)
