Renaissance costume squeeage

The teeth are finally feeling a bit better, but housecleaning has resumed, so generally I'm feeling pretty icky.
Anyhow, on the bright side, I've finally figured out what costumes I'm going to make for the Renaissance faire this September; I have a simple dress and a fancy dress planned out, and which one I make will depend upon how long housecleaning takes, because that will determine how long I'll have to work on it. But they're both late 15th/early 16th century Italian Renaissance, and the fancy one is based on one of Danielle's dresses from "Ever After". For the simple one I've got a cheery peach linen, and the chemise for underneath I already have; and for the fancy one I've got this gorgeous jewel-green embossed fabric that I've been wanting to use forever with this gorgeous gold and ivory trim. Needless to say, I'm greatly looking forward to making them! :)
(It's SO hot outside today! I can't describe how good it feels to be back in an air conditioned building right now!)

Date: 2004-07-14 05:51 pm (UTC)I've loved Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire all my life. The first movies I ever saw were all musicals. Definitely check out "An American in Paris", "Singin' in the Rain", and "Easter Parade" if you haven't seen those yet. (And "Easter Parade" has the added bonus of Judy Garland; ANYTHING with Judy Garland in it is worth seeing!)
