Well, Regency House Party was mightily amusing, and I can't wait for the next episode, but as we all know, complete happiness is rarely achieved, and I'm obviously disappointed about the election. I really was hoping I wouldn't have to read four more years of headlines telling all about how Bush is trying to ban gay marriage, take away women's abortion rights, and start a war with the entire frigging Muslim world, among myriad other horrendous things, but thankfully it's his last term. If we make it through the next four years without the Bush administration starting world war three, or taking away all the rest of our civil liberties, I'll consider it a success. But in the meantime I am just damn tired of all things political. I'm so happy that now I can watch Jeopardy! without having to slog through twelve campaign ads every commercial break. I don't know why, but there seemed to be a higher percentage of compaign ads on during Jeopardy! than during any other show! It drove me to watching BBC America all this past week to escape it; which I think was a highly successful plan. *mmm...shiny britcoms*

Also on the disappointing side, our evil neighbor that's so fond of harrassing us refuses to move out, even though the manager offered a better deal to entice him away, and he clearly isn't happy where he is, hating us as unreasonably as he does. And of course, the manager is afraid of him, and she won't kick him out. So what, WE'RE supposed to move? The ones who are being harrassed? The ones who have lived there for ten years before Mr. Harrasser came, without a single complaint from anyone for any reason in ten years? I think not, but how can we continue to live under such circumstances? We literally cannot afford to move, but if we don't, what's gonna happen, they're just gonna let him go on just as he is, banging and shouting until he just explodes and takes it into his head to kill us all? That's just ridiculous. So we're looking into what legal options we have, trying to figure out if we have a tenant's association that can help out, whatever. It's just so frustrating. And in the meantime we keep all our doors locked 24/7, trying not to make a sound, hoping to god to go unnoticed, not even able to take a simple shower after 8 p.m. for fear of what he might do if he hears it. I feel like it's World War II and we're hiding from the Nazis. That's really what it feels like. I can't even describe how upset and depressed this has got me. I have SO got to dig out my computer at home, because if I'm not able to get some writing done I'll go absolutely insane. I NEED to have something positive to focus on. I should go find a Colonel Brandon icon somewhere with the "Give me an occupation or I shall run mad" quote. That's SO me right now. Ugh.

So I go on reading my Jane Austen novels at a voracious pace and hope for the best.
