Our basement has become the Batcave. Mum was attacked by a pair of them when she went down for wrapping paper before Christmas, and even though we've called about having them removed, no one has apparently done anything about it, because you can still hear them squeaking sometimes if you're in the living room when it's quiet in the middle of the night. Such are the joys of living in an old house.
But despite the bats, and having to stuff rags in my windows to keep the cold winds out, I wouldn't give up my gorgeous Victorian house for anything. Houses were made so much better back then, as well as prettier. It's so nice to be able to sit in my room in the middle of the night and play music. All I have to do is close the heavy pocket doors and no sound gets through there to wake people up. *mwahaha*
Finally saw North and South a little while ago. Love love loved it. I'll have to read the book now. The icon says it all, really. ;-D
