sewing and lilacs
May. 5th, 2006 05:16 pmAlmost finished the 1830's doll dress, just have to finish the collar. Probably would have finished it already, but I was sick the night before last. Ugh.
Am delighted to find that the bush in our backyard is actually a lilac bush. It suddenly burst into bloom a few days ago, and I'm completely over the moon about it. When we moved in last fall, the flowers were already gone, so all winter I thought it was just an ordinary bush. To be surprised by my favorite flower is just too good of luck. If someone had told me last year that in a year's time I'd be living in the ground floor of a Victorian mansion, with a huge lawn and trees and a lilac bush outside, I'd either have fainted with glee or called them a liar. It's just great how life can surprise you! :)
