The Mifflin Street Co-op closed today. It's so sad. It was the last REAL co-op in the city, all we've got now are overpriced yuppie co-ops. Somehow, Madison has lost some of it's Madison-ness when we don't even have a proper co-op. At least I stocked up on cheap Blue Sky sodas before they closed! And I've got to go and take a picture of the mural on the side of the building, because you never know if the next owners of the building will paint over it, which would be just terrible. It adds so much character to the city. Darn corparations chasing out local businesses!
Haven't started on the medieval costumes yet, the sewing machine broke. Drat! I think I might break down and do them by hand. Yes, by hand. I must be crazy, but I'm desperate. I have silk, and I WILL make a Burgundian dress come hell or high water!
