Wonder of wonders: I actually DID get some writing done! Yay! Go me! ;-D

The Harry Potter tarot deck is coming along nicely. The wands and pentacles suits are pretty easy, but I'm having a bit of a time finding creative ways to put in all those cups and swords.

On the subject of anime: I do have a very open mind, and I would LOVE it if dear Kelly could send me some Escaflowne tapes at some point. She led me to Harry Potter, so therefore I have no choice but to trust her on this anime thing. ;-D I know Sherrie's been into it for a long time, and I've been curious about it ever since. I know some of it has to be better than the kiddie junk they show on TV!

Oh, and definitely the Ewan version of "Emma"!

But d'you think she'd enjoy the subbed version? I had the advantage of finding Japanese cool, but even I blinked a few times during the first Tomokazu shouts of "HI-TO-MIIIIIII!".

I'm going to try and wire our vcrs together. *twitch* Think I'll pass along some Kare Kano while I'm at it...and finally get Fae the Escamovie so we can cry over the Folken/Dryden abuse...and swoon over Van's bishie bootie...muahahaha...

You're askin' the wrong girl for that first one; I am passionate about watching subbed over dubbed. The only anime I'm willing to watch dubbed is Ranma 1/2; for anything else, welp, gotta be subbed for me. *shrug* *gryn*

Oh, and I have the Esca movie! I got it for Christmas! Whee! Just haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Mmmm, bishie Van...must remedy this!

Yes, some anime is MUCH better than kiddie TV stuff. Mind you, mainstream anime is frightening. Like Pokemon, Dragonball Z or some of the Cartoon Network edited stuff. I wouldn't watch that at all. *shudder*

But the series that never make American TV are really good usually. Escaflowne is beautiful, brilliant, and incredibly great for a romantic at heart. Kenshin is historical and the characters are lovable. Slayers is about a soceress genius, a dumb swordsman, a justice-loving princess and a reluctant chimera who use magic and sword skill to defeat the Dark Lords of their world. Inu-Yasha is about a schoolgirl in today's time that can transport back to a fuedal Japanese era via a portal in her backyard. In the old world, she must save a mystical necklace known as the shikon with the help of a reluctant half-demon named Inu-Yasha, before the evil men of the country use the jewel in the necklace for their own benefit.

Those are just five little examples, though. :) Anime is a lot of fun once you get into and get to know it. Like I said, stay away from mainstream. And there IS porn and violent animes, but I don't watch those either. *shudder*
