My birthday is this month! In two weeks! I didn't even notice till now! I'll be 21 in two weeks! (But I don't drink anyway, so I'll still be bored and have nothing to do for my birthday! LOL.)
Started on the 1940's black and white polka dot doll dress I've been meaning to make for ages. Yay!
Saw Becoming Jane. I liked it. It wasn't as good as I hoped it would be, but it wasn't as terrible as I feared it would be. I just wish they would have portrayed Jane Austen more realistically. I really don't believe she was the sort of person who would run to her room and cry and tear up everything she'd written just because one guy said something disparaging about it! Anne Hathaway was kind of an odd choice to play her; I like Anne Hathaway, but she radiates 'cute' more than 'pioneering author'. And she didn't really have entire command of the accent, either. And it seemed like the filmmakers were trying a little too hard to make it just like Pride & Prejudice. But despite all this, I liked it. It looked gorgeous, all pastoral and English and beautiful costumes and beautiful houses, a lovely score and lovely actors in a sweet little romantic movie. James McAvoy is utterly charming too; I knew they were going to start casting him as romantic leads sooner or later. (I still love him best as Mr. Tumnus though!) I just hope that somebody, someday, makes a movie about Jane Austen that shows what she was really like.
