Sometimes even "Saved By the Bell" can re-affirm a revelation.

Yesterday the graduation episode of "Saved By the Bell" was on. Always makes me a little weepy every time I see it, but this time I went totally mad sobbing, because it really made me start thinking about friends and growing up and the moments in life when one chapter ends and we move on to the next. I started thinking about my own experiences in that regard, and what I missed from the old days, but how much I've gained since then. It was so hard to let go of old familiar things, but doing so really gave me the chance to discover myself. These past few years have really been about that, and so when I think of it, they have been as rich and full as my childhood when I was surrounded by my friends. It's important to have other people, but it's just as important to have yourself.

And I was reminded of all this by "Saved By the Bell". And they say it's mindless fluff! Bah! ;-D

I think things that are cheerful and positive are often dismissed as fluff, but I think they're really important to have. For example, most people would say that the movie "Josie and the Pussycats" is useless and stupid, but on the contrary, I love it, because 1) it has a positive message and 2) the songs from it are so bouncy, they just get into your head and make you happy all the time. I've been listening to them over and over, and it honestly has done a lot to improve my disposition.

Yes, I have been eating a lot of sugar today, so I should probably get off the 'puter. Sugar induced ramblings are not beneficial to anyone. ;-D

I am very with you. Discovering yourself is the only way to one day have healthy, stable relationships. What's that old song about the greatest love of all is to love yourself... Heaven knows I've probably spent 90% of my life by myself...but I know me, whereas a LOT of kids my age have absolutely no clue. I wouldn't change anything.

Not that there isn't still more to learn, of course...^_^

And you're right, cheerful things ARE often dismissed. What's important is the happiness you find from it. That's all that matters.
