I've been trying to do some housecleaning but it's not going well. Bah. Maybe if I can find a place to donate the several boxes of books sitting in my hallway it'll go better!

On the Regency Society front, I'm thinking possibly I might do things a little differently, since my city actually does have it's own chapter of the International Costumer's Guild. That being the case, I'm thinking perhaps I might be able to organize some period costumed events through them, and not even have to deal with making my own group and website and junk like that. A separate Regency Society though, could have the meetings and workshops and book discussions, which would be fun, but I also like the idea of having events for other eras too, so I'm going to have to give it some thought.

On the TV front, I miss The Adventures of Merlin. Yes, it's one of those generally awful Sci-Fi channel fantasy series that have cheesy modern dialogue and all the women wearing gold lame and chiffon even though it's supposed to be the Middle Ages. However, even despite that, this one is actually rather cute. I have a soft spot for Arthurian stuff, and even though they tweaked quite a bit of established Arthurian mythology in order to make it more of a 'hip young show' (think Smallville in Camelot) this one has the advantage of an appealing cast and a lead who's actually a really good actor. (Unlike Smallville!) Your heart totally goes out to poor little Merlin having to hide his magic and get treated like dirt even though his magic is what saves everybody's arse each episode. (Sorta like Sabrina the Teenage Witch in Camelot.) Plus watching the bantering comraderie develop between Merlin and obnoxious pretty boy Arthur is great fun. So in spite of myself, I've become addicted to it, and I really hope it comes back for another season. And I think I may even have to track the first season down on DVD, so I can catch up on the episodes I missed!
