Well, Mum wants to get started on next years Renaissance faire costumes, but I'm kind of horrified by this because I was hoping to get back to my writing, and maybe even get back to doing some art projects. Especially since Mum's b-day is coming up, and I have no money to buy a present, I was going to start making some of my Victorian greeting cards and give her one of those instead of a present because she really likes them. I was thinking of doing some more Art Nouveau style cards this year, and I've been looking through my Art Nouveau books and the Aubrey Beardsley books I miraculously found at the library, and I got a start on some really cool designs. All I've got to do is decide on the final arrangement, then copy the sketches onto the actual card. I'm actually pretty excited about it. Let's hope I can find the time to do it!
On a possibly even more horrified note, I'm still reeling from the news that Conan O'Brien's going to get The Tonight Show in 2009. For someone as addicted to late night talkshows as myself, this is quite jarring, and, since Late Night with Conan O'Brien is my favorite of all, I'm incredibly horrified. Late Night is so much funnier and crazier and smarter, and just generally such a better show than The Tonight Show, and now they're just transplanting him over there willy-nilly, and I know it's going to suck. They're going to try to change him to suit the earlier time slot, and it'll just end up being awful and un-funny. I'm utterly dreading 2009 now. Long live Late Night with Conan O'Brien!
And, in more TV-related babbling, last night's episode of The Inspector Lynley Mysteries was really good! I really love it when Havers gets more to do. I now have to officially add Inspector Lynley to Mrs. Bradley and Hetty Wainthropp on my list of Mystery! shows that I'm addicted to.
