I really do love Halloween. Thankfully, I'd gotten over my cold by then, so I went out to State Street, which is Halloween Central were I live. It's probably the year's hugest crowd that day, and there's always lots of people dressed up, and it's fun to watch them go by as you sit in a restaraunt window (I ate far too much ice cream. YAY!) The impromptu bicycle parades are good fun too, and people get very creative with costumes that incorporate the bikes. The shops are all open late too, and some give out candy, and I actually bought a hat at the hat shop, a nice straw coolie hat that will go very well with several historical costumes I'm going to make this year. The weather was unseasonably warm too, so that made it all the better. Halloween is such a happy holiday. Even though I'm too old for trick-or-treating, it's remained my favorite. Maybe it's not the candy, maybe Halloween really is magical after all. :)
